Is Exercise Important After Bariatric Surgery?

Yes, although bariatric surgery is a temporary quick fix for weight loss it’s important to remember its going to be a journey to maintain or continuing to lose.  Fortunately, because of the new physical changes of your body exercising is easier.  I said “easier, not easy”.

When you lose weight rapidly muscle is lost also, which may cause skin to sag.  However, exercising using the combination of strength training and cardio movements is an effective way of maintaining lean body mass.  So whether you get a personal trainer, do Chair-A-Cise, or join your local gym its very important to start and maintain an exercise program to improve, maintain or enhance the results of your bariatric surgery.
